let’s talk about burn out 🔥 i want to share my experience because i think it’s relatable for a lot of people, but not something that we always admit we are going through because we feel like we always have to show our best self. 👉 when i was teaching yoga full-time in nyc i would teach 15-20 or so a week, sometimes more. my days would begin with teaching classes at 6 am and would end around 8 pm, with a few small breaks in between classes. i want to start with saying that i am so incredibly grateful that i am able to do work that i am truly passionate about and sharing the practice of yoga through my teachings is one of the most rewarding jobs. but i would be lying if i said i didn’t experience burn out teaching a full schedule and that it didn’t have a negative effect on my personal relationship with yoga and overall well-being. teaching fitness full-time in nyc (or anywhere really) is no joke. at times it started to feel as if i lost a part of myself and what yoga truly means to me. ——— when i moved across the country, i took a month and a half off from teaching any yoga classes. this time allowed for me to reconnect with myself and my yoga practice.
